- involved in new experiences, problems, projects, and opportunities
- they work with others in groups such as in business teams, team tasks, and cooperative work
- being thrown in the deep end with a difficult task first
- in chairing meetings and leading discussion groups
Activists learn less when:
- listening to lectures, talks, or long explanations
- reading, writing, or thinking on their own, they prefer hands-on opportunities

- following precise instruction to the letter
Project World Awareness
In order to learn more about activist, you are going to lead an activist project in groups of five, by getting involved in a social issue. Remember that knowledge is learned through taking action for this activist project. The topic of this project relates to global warming.
Within the last century, Earth's temperature has risen drastically fast, mainly due to the industrial revolution. Global warming could do more just than melt polar ice. It could change our maps, and displace people from cities and tropical islands.

The video below shows renewable energy sources which can help reduce greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide emissions, and methane. The video is intended to think of ideas and ways in order to help save the environment.
1. Create a mission statement for the awareness that you want to raise in order to save the planet. This could either be advocated through multimedia and social media means such as a website, YouTube video, PowerPoint, Facebook page, etc. Look at the technology section for additional ideas.
2. On the multimedia, include causes and impacts of climate change, and solutions that companies and consumers can undertake.
3. Try linking your multimedia and social media with an active task that you will carry out in a group. This could be either in the form of planting a tree to reduce CO2 gases, displaying and promoting posters on ways to save energy such as switching to compact fluorescent light-bulbs, or carpooling.
4. Create a twitter account and create a hash-tag (#) or slogan to promote your campaign.
5. Be creative, remember the possibilities to this project are endless.
